Who We Are

Port Perry and Prince Albert United Churches comprise a two-point pastoral charge of The United Church of Canada. We are a part of Lakeridge Presbytery of the Bay of Quinte Conference. Port Perry United Church can have over 200 worshippers in attendance on a Sunday morning (9:50 a.m.) Prince Albert United Church appreciates the “small is beautiful” philosophy and welcomes 20 to 30 worshippers on a Sunday morning (11:30 a.m.) The two congregations share a ministry team and an administrator.

Our roots are in the Methodist tradition, and both congregations have been a part of The United Church of Canada since its inception in 1925. We celebrate among us a variety of people of all ages, backgrounds, faith perspectives, and income levels. We are followers of Jesus who prefer questions to answers, and we want to help to create and to model a different kind of world. We do our best to engage worshippers’ minds and spirits. Reaching out to our community is important to us.

Worshippers will find Port Perry’s service a little more formal than Prince Albert’s. Both churches offer excellent programming for children during worship.
Music plays an important part in the faith life of both congregations. Both churches have accomplished choirs.

The Creed of  The United Church of Canada

 We are not alone,
 we live in God’s world.
 We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.
