The Little Church That Cares!
Prince Albert United Church is a small church with a big heart. If you are more comfortable with a smaller, more informal church experience, Prince Albert is for you!

We are a welcoming and relaxed group! When you enter at the Jeffrey Street doors, you will be greeted by an usher who will give you an order of service (bulletin) that highlights the main happenings of the worship service as well as other programs taking place throughout the month. You are welcome to sit wherever you like in the worship space (sanctuary); don’t worry, there are no reserved pews! Before the service begins, organist and choir director Beth Willes will play some reflective pieces on the organ. The service begins when the choir enters the choir loft and one of our ministers Elaine or Don enters the sanctuary. The service is about one hour in length.

An important part of the service is the passing of Christ’s peace. At this point in the service, we pause, the choir members come down from the choir loft, and worshippers greet one another with a handshake or a hug. The service then unfolds, with a time especially for the children, called conversation time. After this time, the children leave the sanctuary with their leaders. Sunday school programs are provided for children of all ages.

After the children leave the sanctuary, scripture is read, the choir offers selections of music, and Elaine or Don shares a reflection on where our lives and God’s call to us intersect (a sermon!) Later in the service collection plates are passed around and members contribute financially to the life and work of the church in the community. Some of the offering goes to pay the everyday operating expenses of Prince Albert United Church, some goes to support mission projects across Canada and around the world, and some goes to support our own church’s local outreach initiatives. Feel free to give whatever you can to support the church’s mission. No one will be looking over your shoulder to see what you put on the plate!

After the service the minister will greet people on their way out of the worship space. On several Sundays throughout the year, for those able to stay, a lunch follows the worship service down in the fellowship hall. You would be most welcome to join us!

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and to exploring together the stirrings of the Spirit in our midst.

Prince Albert has an excellent choir, under the direction of Beth Willes. The Prince Albert choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings, at 7:00 p.m., at the church. For more information, please contact the church office.
