DAY EIGHT – Thursday, March 2, 2023
Mark 3:1-6
In this passage, Jesus goes against what is the “norm” and performs a miracle on the Sabbath as he believes the right thing to do is to help save someone’s life. I believe that we can learn from his actions as he went against what the people around him thought he should do and instead did what he knew was right. Jesus shows us that you can be successful when you stand up for what you believe in and do what you know is right. In our daily lives, there may be situations that are presented to us where it is easy to do what everyone else is doing rather than what is of Christian value, as it is easier to be part of the crowd and not the odd one out. But, by learning from this passage we know that we will be able to accomplish more by doing what is right. Overall, as a community, we need to ignore any judgment we may fear, and do what we know in our hearts is right for ourselves and one another. During Lent, we can take it upon ourselves to heed this lesson and make a conscious effort to understand and consider the needs of others and where we can support them.
