DAY SIX – Tuesday March 8, 2022
Matthew 5:13-16
Jesus saw the crowds and went up on a hill. With his disciples gathered around him he began to teach. What he taught is about Salt and Light. Both salt and light have properties which affect things around us all. Salt is used to enhance flavour. But it if loses its saltiness there is no way to restore it to its initial taste. It becomes worthless, so it is thrown out. It has no purpose anymore. Regarding the word light, the good deeds of Christ’s followers are to shine so that all may see. Jesus said, “you are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp, then put it under a basket. Instead, the light is set on the lamp stand where it gives light to everyone in the house.” Therefore, let your light shine before all people in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
