DAY THIRTY-FOUR – Saturday, April 9, 2022
Matthew 22:15-22
I feel this passage is asking us to take a look at ourselves to see if we can do/give more. Jesus asks the Pharisees for a coin ...a Denarius...and wants to know whose image is on it. They respond saying it is Caesar’s. When Jesus answers: “So let it be that you give the things to Caesar that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.” What does he mean?
If we are to give God the things stamped with God’s image then that is ourselves. We give to God in service...our hearts, our minds, our energy, our time and part of our earnings. During this Lenten period ask of yourself, “Can I do more?” Just something to consider.
