DAY TWELVE – Tuesday, March 7, 2023
Mark 4:26-32
Each Sunday we pray: “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The parables of the seed crop and the mustard seed say that this prayer will surely come to pass. The grain crop grows to maturity and is harvested. The mustard seed grows into “the greatest of shrubs.” Then there is no doubt that God’s Kingdom is coming and that God’s will is being done. It’s interesting to note that the sower of the grain crop and the planter of the mustard seed are not identified. This allows us to read ourselves into these parables as sowers of grain and planters of mustard.
We pray “Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done” most Sundays. Let’s make a point of remembering that these things are really happening: God’s Kingdom is coming and God’s will is being done. We’re here to take our part in the coming of God’s Kingdom.
