Sunday Mornings for Babies
Babies are welcome to stay in worship. We think babies’ coos and chatter are one of creation’s best blessed sounds! You are also very welcome to make use of our safe and inviting nursery. Our nursery is well-staffed with caring and experienced folk. There is a paging system so that caregivers can reach you if your little one needs you. The nursery is located on the same level as the sanctuary, in the back hall of the Christian Education wing.
Infant Baptism (NEXT SCHEDULED BAPTISMS ARE SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2023 & SUNDAY, MAY 14TH, 2023)
Infant Baptism is celebrated three times a year. A preparation class is held prior to the baptism. Baptismal vows include a promise to welcome the support of the church in your life. We encourage you to attend worship before and after your infant’s baptism, and to stay connected with our congregation and all it has to offer, as you meet the challenge of raising children in today’s world. Adult baptism is also offered on a regular basis for those wishing to make a deeper or new faith commitment in their lives. Kids are welcome to sit with their families for the first 15 minutes of worship. After a conversation time just for them, children then head out for Bible stories, crafts, and games. During the year, our Sunday School attendance ranges from 20 to 30 children.
Our kids know that they too are called to make a difference in the world. Our Sunday School program takes on projects throughout the year, including a pancake breakfast the proceeds from which support Sleeping Children Around the World. An offering is collected each week during Sunday School. The monies go to different service projects chosen by the children.
Youth (Grades 7 to 12)
On Sunday mornings, youth sit in worship for the first 15 minutes and then meet in our teen room and discuss issues that matter to them. Check out "Youth at Port Perry" for more information.
Music
Music plays an important part of our faith life at Port Perry United Church. A junior choir and a girls’ choir (grade 7 and up) participate regularly in worship. Rehearsals take place after Sunday morning worship. Julie Renwick and Leanne Kerr direct the junior choir; our organist Joan Bretney directs the girls’ choir. For more information, please contact the church office. Port Perry United Church also has a multi-generational church band. Teens grade 8 and up are welcome to participate.
Vacation Bible School
Every July over 40 children participate in our Vacation Bible School. Over 40 volunteers make this fun and inspiring week possible. The program fills very quickly, so early registration is recommended. This past summer's program "WORKSHOP OF WONDERS" was a blast!

Family Fun
- Kids and dads/step-dads/grandpas floor hockey is enjoyed the last Friday of the month, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the auditorium. Ages 6 and up.
- Family games nights are held throughout the year. A relaxed evening of multi-generational fun, with make-your-own sundaes!
- In the winter months we enjoy a family curling afternoon.
- In June everyone is invited to a church camping weekend.
