ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR WEEK OF SUNDAY, JUNE 4TH
We invite everyone to join us in the auditorium for hotdogs, watermelon and cupcakes on Sunday June 4th!! There will be face painting and bouncy castles in the side yard!! Thank you to our Christian Education Committee, as well as Tim Chasse and Paul Griffen for all their help. Sunday School teachers will take a break over the summer and Sunday School will begin again on Sunday, September 10th.
Ladies, you are invited to join us on Tuesday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Port Perry United Church for the Port Perry UCW’s annual get-together. Enjoy delicious desserts, refreshments, worship and fellowship. We will be taking up a freewill offering for Oak Ridges Hospice. Our guest speaker will be Meghan McLeod, Fund Development & Communications Coordinator for Oak Ridges Hospice. We look forward to seeing you there!
Next Sunday, June 11th, is an important Sunday in the life of our congregation. We will be worshipping jointly with our sister church, Prince Albert United Church, Sunday, June 11th, at 11:00 a.m. This service will honour and celebrate the legacy of Prince Albert United Church as we move towards our amalgamation date, July 1st.
The annual homecoming service is on Tuesday afternoon, June 13th, at 2:00 p.m., in the Port Perry United Church sanctuary. If there is someone you know who is unable to attend worship on Sunday mornings and would enjoy this service, please offer to bring them. If you are available to be a driver that day, please call the church office. For regular Sunday worshippers, this service is a wonderful opportunity to visit with many of our shut-ins!
One and all are welcome to join in on the church camping Saturday fun day on Saturday, June 17th, at Riverwood Campground near Lindsay. This includes a whole day at the campground with full use of their pool, playgrounds, walking trails, and riverside. We will end Saturday with a pot-luck supper and campfire. The Community Outreach Committee of Port Perry and Prince Albert United Churches invites you to enter the 2023 golf tournament on Saturday, June 24th, at Sunnybrae Golf Club. Registration is $75.00 per person and includes your golf cart and a barbecue lunch. Tickets are available after morning worship in the auditorium and at the church office during the week. All monies raised will benefit local charities. There are only 40 tickets available, so don’t delay! There is also a $25 lunch option for those bringing along a non-golfing buddy.
Operation Scugog (our local foodbank) is low on food staples right now. You are welcome to bring your non-perishable food donations to church and place them in the baskets in the Narthex. We will make sure they get delivered to the food bank.
Registration for Vacation Bible Camp is now open!
Vacation Bible Camp will be the mornings of Monday, July 10th, to Friday, July 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The program is for JK to grade 5 (as of September 2023) and includes stories, crafts, games, and snacks. Come join in on the fun! The cost is $25 a child, $50 maximum per family. Registration forms are available on the church website. Spaces are limited, so don’t delay!
