Preparing for Lent
We
are planning to prepare a Lenten reflection booklet for the upcoming season
of Lent. It works much the same way as the Upper Room booklet, providing
a scripture reading and a reflection for each day of Lent. The difference
is that the reflections will be prepared by members of our two congregations!
Reflection sheets will be circulated in mid-January. If you would like
to prepare a reflection, please speak to Elaine or Don.
"Discovering Everyday
Spirituality." This year's winter weekly study series will help us
all to find God in our everyday lives. Be it at work, at play, or at home,
or through music, our life stories, or simple rituals, come and explore
how to bring God alive in your day-to-day activities. The series will
span 6 weeks, beginning on February 15th and 16th. There will be a choice
of Wednesday evening sessions beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the lounge at
Port Perry, or Thursday morning repeat sessions beginning at 10:00 a.m.
at Prince Albert. Each stand-alone session begins with a half-hour DVD
presentation followed by an hour or so's small-group discussion. Please
call the office, or speak to Elaine or Don, if you are interested in attending.

3.
A White Gift Thank You!
A sincere thank you
to the Port Perry congregation for the generous donations of food, gifts,
gift cards, and money for the white gift service. You gave 6 families
a bountiful Christmas. Thank you to the volunteers who wrapped the gifts
and packed the boxes. Thank you for your caring and generosity.

4.

will take place on Pentecost Sunday, May 27th. If you are interested,
